Such a strong memory stays in my mind of being privileged to share a taxi with Al and Anyssa after their wedding. It was such a joyful moment.

I was fortunate to teach Alastair at school - I think we must have left around the same time - and sang with him in the choir for seven years. He was always a gentle and kind soul, unbelievably talented yet so modest and unassuming. He will have graced any community in which he was a part, and I was especially pleased that he had such a strong connection with my old church St Margarets Westminster. I offer my love and condolences to Alastairs family and friends at this terrible time.

Alastair was a sporting competitor on
the squash court and always enjoyable to play against . Off court he was always ready to chat and take an interest in other people and our Club. A real gentleman, I will miss Alastair and his light blue hoody greatly.

Always enjoyed Racketball and Tennis games with Alastair. Loved his unconventional and fun style of play. He was a great guy and I will miss him.

I always enjoyed our encounters at racketball and, more recently, tennis where his signature exclamation Good grief! would be unleashed in the event of a shot that failed to clear the net or, on occasion, escaped the confines of the court altogether. Although he claimed that his service game was not fully functional until 10am (at the earliest) he was able to call on a repertoire of unconventional shots to get out of trouble. Alastair was a lovely fellow and I will miss him enormously.

As a member of the racketball club, I was very sad to hear of Alastair's passing.
