Not many people could be your boss and mentor (for 12 years!), become your brother-in-law (for eight of those 12), and remain a close and wonderful friend throughout (totalling 43 years) - but that was you John. As recently as last year I turned to you with a work-related dilemma, and, as always, you gave me a balanced, carefully thought out and wise response. From a viaduct in Wales to bridges, boating, and babies in Hong Kong, to eventually living 10,000 miles apart, you were always steady, wise, witty and fun, and, in truth, I could never imagine you not being there. You were of course also a wonderful husband and father to Lynne, Emma and Carrie and my heart goes out to you all at this time. R.I.P. old friend and mentor.

To my thoughtful, caring, kind Uncle John,
You have captured the hearts of so many in your life and will be missed by us all. You gave your heart, wisdom and time selflessly to others and never demanded anything in return. For the world to lose such a soul too early is unfair and felt by all, but you have touched so many in ways that cannot be described. We will celebrate your life, your achievements, what you stood for, and the enduring impact on others
Thank you for all you have done for me since the day I arrived into this world. Whether it be building a den in your garage for us kids to play in, picking me up from school on the other side of country, or lending your spare room when I was (regularly) in need of a bed, it will never be forgotten. My fondest memories are not only of your actions but genuinely of simply being there, available at any time of day, for whatever the need may be. You were truly a wonderful man that I have and always will aspire to be like.
To Auntie Lynne, Emma and Carrie, you have been in my mind every minute of every day since I heard of his admission. All three of you have had to endure such a torrid rollercoaster of events and now, I can only imagine, will feel lost without him. But he loved and adored you so much, a proud father and loving husband, you gave him everything he wanted, remember this.
We will miss you, Uncle John
Stephen Pearson £250.00
Dear Lynne, Emma and Carrie. Emma and Carrie you will not remember Magdalene and I, but we first met you and your parents almost 41 years ago to the day here in Hong Kong. What fun we had as part of the Franki crowd! Whereas the Bradshaws left Hong Kong after several years, Magdalene and I are still here. We send all of our love and condolences at this very sad time. The best words of comfort that we can give to you is time is a great healer. This poem may be a comfort
